I suggest using any brand 10w30 or 10w40.I also suggest running the 10w40 in warmer seasons unless the truck works better with a lighter grade such as the 10w30.I use valvoline for most of my trucks 25yrs owning it.But have used walmarts super tech and no problems.I would stay with the conventional oil for price and general use.I do not recommend synthetic being it any real mileage on these trucks it will burn it off.Synthetic is good, like if you just rebuilt the engine and use it from day one,and each oil change. But switching between conventional to synthetic with higher mileage is not so good for cost and engine using more oil.I suggest a good filter like mobil one, however yes I have used fram and both work fine.
take it to a pro
Apparently you have NO clue that the truck has electronic ignition! Meaning the truck does NOT have points! It has a rotor button, and ignition module.Points have not been used on the for years and the 86-93 Mazda series are all electronic ignition. I own a 89 b2000 and the point gap is 0.45-0.55 and it DOES have points! I can take a photo for you if you like? So they are NOT all electronic ignition!
