It is only a rumor and not a fact he bought land in Paraguay. The story came from a Cuban state run newspaper. There is no paperwork or data to back this up. It is NOT proven this happened.

98,840 acres of land in Chaco, Paraguay, near the Triple Frontier region (Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay). The land is located above the Guarani aquifer (which is the largest single body of underground water in the world) and is close the Mariscal Estigarribia US base in Paraguay.
