Taken from the 2nd book of Acts. Many languages, at least five, were spoken as the Holy Ghost filled the people in the upper room, and visitors from out of town heard them speaking in tongues: As the scriptures state, each heard his own language being spoken, ie, folks from all these places heard their native language spoken: * Phrygia, * Pamphylia, * Egypt, * Libya * Cyrenesalem Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at JeruParthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judæa, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilæans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judæa, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. I hope this helps, Elder Carlton Potts cpministries.net

Acts 2:4 says, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

Since early Hellenistic times, the entire eastern Mediterranean area chose to use Greek as a common language, except for the Palestinian Jews, who continued to use Aramaic. Of course, it would not have been surprising for the disciples to speak fluent Greek, given the large number of gentiles who lived in both Galilee and Judea. The other language that would have been known in Judea was Latin, which was spoken by the soldiers and administrators from Rome.

Thomas would have spoken in either Hebrew or Aramaic which were quite similar and the primary languages spoken in the area of Jerusalem at the time. Foreigners would have understood him in their own language.
