The Project for a New American Century clearly calls for a modern Pearl Harbor to act as the Catalyst for the increased defense spending, and deterioration of civil liberties that resulted from the attacks. Ultimately though it is the fear that comes from possessing things, you do not want to lose. It is attachment. Mostly just people that really want to keep their jobs in Washington D.C. Instead of just doing their jobs, they create a gigantic ordeal on so many levels, you can hardly believe it's not fiction, and that of course is their method. The BIG lie.

There is some controversy about terrorist motives, but I will try to show various sides of the issue. Since the US has acted in an arrogant manner since the end of WW II and has interfered in the internal politics of a great many nations, there are people who think that the US simply had it coming, as a demonstration that the US cannot continue to get its way all the time with no consequences. That is one view. Alternatively, it has been pointed out that Islamic civilization which was, around the 14th century, the most advanced civilization in the world, is proud of its past accomplishments and still feels entitled to be the world's dominant civilization, by reason not only of its glorious past but more importantly because it is the custodian and loyal servant of (as they see it) the One True Relgion. Muslims feel that Christians and Jews have in some way cheated them of their rightful place in the world, and they are now prepared to get revenge against this usurpation. Many Muslims believe that if they can sufficiently terrorize the world, then all the non-Muslims will surrender to the will of Allah.
