First, it depends on the country and their system. Within the United States, professional degrees are typically those professions that require a license. To name just a few, lawyers, medical doctors, nurses, engineers, pharmacist, physical therapists, etc. Thus, these professions are at graduate level with some no less than a master's degree, while others a doctorate degree.
