Well heres how becoming a paramedic works... First thing you have to do is have your HS diploma. Then you must attend an EMT-Basic class. After becoming a certified basic you will need to choose a paramedic program. Many different ones are available throughout the country and the amount of hours needed vary by state. After you complete the class you take a state/national cert test. if and when you pass the test, you are a paramedic...good luck getting hired as a paramedic if you dont have any experience as a basic
