Which forms of light are lower in energy and frequency than the light that your eyes can see?

infrared and radio :)

Why light of some fireworks looks white?

light is frequency as our eyes detect the frequency spectrum of colors white is the brightest that we can see. Of course black is just the absence of light

How are ultraviolet waves different from violet waves?

Ultraviolet (UV) light has a higher frequency (and a shorter wavelength and shorter period) than violet light. It is more energetic, too. We can't see UV light as our eyes only see up through violet. The shorter wavelengths of the UV light are something we cannot detect with our eyes. We can see (in order of increasing frequency) red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet light. The UV light is outside the range of our vision.

What causes colour?

Light is made up of radiation of different wavelengths/frequencies; our eyes can perceive some of these differences in wavelengths/frequencies.Light is made up of radiation of different wavelengths/frequencies; our eyes can perceive some of these differences in wavelengths/frequencies.Light is made up of radiation of different wavelengths/frequencies; our eyes can perceive some of these differences in wavelengths/frequencies.Light is made up of radiation of different wavelengths/frequencies; our eyes can perceive some of these differences in wavelengths/frequencies.

Who can you see?

we can see with light and eyes

Does green light appear green because it reflects light waves of the green frequency?

Yes. In fact, our eyes are able to percieve colour when it receives the light reflected from the object. The rods in eyes convert the light waves into an impulse which gets transmitted to the brain and analysed. Then we are able to 'see' the colour.

How does light allow us to see?

Objects absorb light at certain frequencies and reflects light at other frequencies. The reason we see colours is because that is the frequency of light reflected, the reason we see black is because all colours are absorbed....it's nothing. So the reason we see objects is because light is reflected from them, this light then meets our eyes and creates an image.

What is the difference between Infrared and visible satellite images?

Electromagnetic (EM) radiation is the word we use for any sort of energy wave that propagates through space. We can measure the frequency of the wave, or the wavelength. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second, which is about 300,000,000 meters per second. We can use this to convert frequency to wavelength; the frequency (in Hertz) times the wavelength (in meters) equals the speed of light. The EM spectrum includes radio, microwaves, heat, light, X-rays and gamma rays; it is all electromagnetic radiation, and the only difference is the frequency (or wavelength). So heat rays are part of the EM spectrum that is just below the red color of light, so "infra-" (below) red; infrared. Infrared (IR) is light that is a frequency a little below what our eyes can see, just as ultraviolet (UV) rays are just light that's a little higher in frequency than our eyes see. We see when light is reflected back to our eyes. When light hits vegetation, it reflects best in the IR range, so satellite photos in the IR range can see tiny changes in the way we see plants.

Why do you see light?

The retinas in your eyes are able to see light.

Do eyes give out light?

No, our eyes does not give out light. Only light comes in to our eyes allowing us to see.

If your eyes never see light will it hurt your eyes?

it can hurt your eyes if you never see the light. dont try it just in case.
