my policy
The United States, Germany, and Russia were three major powers that were not members of the League of Nations. The League of Nations lasted from 1919 to 1946.
They feel they are not sufficiently democratic or accountable.
Citizens of EU nations can live, work, or study in any member nation. Passports must be presented by citizens when traveling between EU nations. Tariffs between member nations were ended in 1968. The common currency of the EU is the Euro. Thirty nations belong to the EU. To belong to the EU, member nations must give up some of their sovereignty. which of these?
Laws within each individual member country and the EU as a whole.
In the last 15 years, the European Union has almost doubled, growing from 15 members to 27 (28 in 2013). These new members were almost all from Eastern Europe, as this is the present goal of the EU: to expand eastward. The EU sees lots of opportunities in recruiting Eastern European nations.
The EU is not anywhere. It is an organisation, not a place. It is an organisation that has 28 different countries as members, all from Europe. The countries in Europe that are members of the EU are:GermanyFranceUKIrelandSpainItalyBelgiumNetherlandsLuxembourgAustriaHungarySwedenFinlandDenmarkEstoniaLatviaLithuaniaPolandGreeceRomaniaBulgariaCyprusCzech RepublicMaltaPortugalSlovakiaSloveniaCroatia
I can't think what gives you that idea. Among the member nations, there is some minor opposition to the whole concept of the EU, or to particular parts of its policies, but in general the members are enthusiastic about it - why else have they clamoured for admission?
In 2005, there were 25 countries in the EU.
The European Union (EU) is a political and economic union of 27 member nations in Europe. The member nations voluntarily join the EU and share sovereignty with the EU institutions. The EU has authority over certain policy areas, while others remain the responsibility of individual member nations. The EU and member nations work together to shape policies, regulations, and laws that affect the European Union as a whole.
