The major battles of World War 2 were fought in North Africa, Europe and the Pacific Islands.
About 50 nations fought in WW2 but basically the whole world was involved.
Lots of nations fought on the allied side of WW1. Some major ones were the United Kingdom, France, USSR, and the United States.
The Battle for Castle Itter was a major battle that was fought in Austria during World War 2. It was fought in the final days of the war and the only battle that the Germans and Americans fought together as allies.
The United States fought against the United Nations during World War I and then fought Canada and Emperor Palpatine's droid army after nuking the UN headquarters in New York. The US won.
was most of the major battles of world war 1 fought in Luxembourg ...true or false
Britain, Australia and Germany.
The League of Nations was viewed by the world as "the league of the victors of World War 1" rather than a fair league for all nations. Most nations ignored the League and their goals therefore the League did little to prevent World War 2. The Treaty of Versailles was also connected to the League of Nations and many nations resented that Treaty. This was a major contributing factor of the reasons for World War 2 being started and fought.
Nearly all the major nations were involved in World War 2.
Woodrow Wilson played a huge role in determining if and when America would get involved in World War I. He also fought for the League of Nations to help avert another World War which won him the 1919 Nobel Peace Prize.
Because it nearly mirrored WWI. In WWI, the European combatants, naturally, fought the majority of their land battles in Europe (trench warfare, etc.), but some land battles and naval battles were fought in Asia, and the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans. Those same lands and oceans were fought on or in by the same European nations that fought in the French and Indian wars. Stated another way, other than the date and modern equipment/weapons; WWI and the French & Indian War were fought in almost the same places by the same nations (countries). Almost...meaning, the American colonies which were a major battlefield during the French and Indian War, was NOT a battlefield at all during WWI (aka the Great War).
World War II was fought because Hitler wanted to expand Germany and takeover the world for his master race. The Japanese leaders had much the same idea. The major countries involved were England, Germany, the United States, Japan, and the Soviet Union. There were other countries, such as Italy, Poland, and France.
