∙ 10y agoWhat makes a story Science Fiction is the science or technology aspect. Sometimes the stories could be remarkably similar, but one calls it science and the other calls it magic. "Hard" Science Fiction would be focused only on Science and Technology that has solid research behind it, and which hasn't been proven wrong... other Science Fiction takes a more flexible stance with time travel, genemods for not needing to sleep, etc.
