Not really. If the insulation in the walls of your house absorbed heat, you would be very uncomfortable. Just the opposite really. Not transferring the heat out of the house or the cold in makes for a good insulator. Not transferring something is what the insulation does. The plastic coating on electrical wire. Glass or anything that doesn't conduct electricity is a good insulator. Anything that separates two or more things from coming into contact with each other.
