It could be a number of things. The first thing to check is the TRUE oil preasure. This test can be preformed by any automotive shop, or you can do it yourself by purchasing a manual (not electric) guage and conecting it to an oil preasure source.
If the gauge shows at least 20 to 25 lbs. of oil preasure at operating temperature it is likely that you need to replace the factory sensor which is located next to the oil filter (this is what my problem was on two different Chevys).
In the event that you actually do not have oil preasure the next item to check would be the oil pump. If this has failed and you have used the vehical any amount of time a complete rebuild of the engine would be recommended.
