On the neck of a American girl there is two white strings don't take them off because those are there to keep her head up and to keep her head and body together.

Go back to the store or contact their customer service. There are also "doll-doctors" that fixes broken dolls and teddybears etc and they might be able to help.
$45 to get a new head but you can do it yourself, all you need is a safety pin and candle wax string just attach the safety pin on to the candle wax string and slid it throw her neck lining and on the back tye a tight knot hope I helped :)
Try this first (if it doesn't work, send her to the Doll Hospital) Mist her hair w/ a misting bottle. Starting from the bottom of her locks, start brushing out knots and frizz while holding her neck w/ one hand so to keep it from loosening. As you work your way up, mist her hair again to keep it a tad bit easier to work with. Do not, do not, soak it.
Just long enough to separate her head from her shoulders.
An Xavier cabbage doll with the name on the new can be anywhere from 50 dollars to 800 dollars. It is all depends on the doll and what it looks like.
the girl has a longer neck
The horizontal lines on a girl's neck are normal.
If I were you, I wouldn't use your own brush on the doll. The best brush for the doll would be the official American girl brush that you can buy through the store. It's your choice though on which brush you want to use. .... No! dont use ur own brush, it will totally mess up their hair.
Atually the wings can be removed and thay are held on by a strap around the neck and a strap around the waist of the doll :D
