Math in an optometry career is very important. I'm working as an optometrist assistant until I graduate high school and continue education in college. My doctor is always calculating peoples perscriptions. You'll need to know how to create a contact RX from a spectacle RX. Adding and subtracting numbers is huge...such as combinding the Sph. and Cyl.
math is needed in medicine because when you become a doctor who will have to know how much medicine you will have to inject into a person if they are really sick.
