Haman is a character lived at the time of the prophet Moses PBUH, his name is mentioned along with the Pharaoh in six different places of the Holy Quran as a person who was very close to him. He is mentioned ÙAS THAT only in the Holy Quran.
The language of ancient Egypt was the Hieroglyphic & the last known example of the use of the hieroglyphic writing was an inscription dated back to 394 AD. Then that language was forgotten, leaving nobody who could read and understand it. Its mystery was solved only in 1799 by the discovery of a tablet called the Rosetta Stone dating back to 196 B.C,with the help of the Greek script found on it the ancient Egyptian writings were decoded. The translation of the inscription was completed by a Frenchman named Jean-Françoise Champollion. Hence that language could be used as a key to discover a big deal of knowledge about the civilization, religion and social life of ancient Egypt. It was discovered that the name Haman was indeed mentioned in the Egyptian inscriptions & In the dictionary of "People in the New Kingdom," that was prepared based on the entire collection of inscriptions, Haman is said to be "the head of stone quarry workers".
Very miraculously, all this went in a great agreement & concurrence to what is revealed about Haman in the Holy Quran contrary to the arguments of the opponents of the Holy Quran who claimed that the prophet Muhammad PBUH copied the Holy Quran from the Torah or whatever & also transferred some of the topics incorrectly !!
- Examples:
(Pharaoh said, 'Council, I do not know of any other god for you apart from Me. Haman, kindle a fire for me over the clay and build me a lofty tower so that perhaps I may be able to climb up to Moses' god! I consider him a blatant liar).
Holy Quran,Surat al-Kasas (28 : 38).
Also,
(Pharaoh said: "O Haman! Build me a lofty palace, that I may attain the ways and means- "The ways and means of (reaching) the heavens, and that I may mount up to the Allah of Moses: But as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!" Thus was made alluring, in Pharaoh's eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the Path; and the plot of Pharaoh led to nothing but perdition (for him))
Holy Quran, Surat Ghafer (40:36-37).
The Holy Quran.
