March is usually a time for wars. That was inspired by Ares, God of War, whose Roman equivalent is Mars (Mars to March). June is a time for marriage inspired by the Greek Goddess of Marriage, Hera, whose Roman equivalent was Juno. The whole winter season was made when Hades stole Persephone from Demeter. Now when her daughter goes back to the Underworld Demeter won't let anything grow.
