1.With server OS we can manage desktop OS. Server Os is higher version of Desktop OS. 2.server OS gives centralised administration for users shared resources higher security. But Desktop OS gives local machine administration only. 3.Server OS is fully covered & managed security. For (ex) Domain Controller application server print server etc. We make server with security. for Desktop OS Normal PC. We make low level security.
You can install a server OS on it.
knoppix could probably run on that, but it is primarily a live disk os, so it might have issues if you want to use it as a desktop or server
It is possible to run Mac OS X on a server but it is not legally as the current license tern of Mac OS X server is installing and running on Apple hardware.
Server OS's usually have no/minimal user interface, and only do as much as they are supposed to do. Desktop OS's on other hand usually have robust GUI's and feature support for lots of things never or rarely used by servers(printers, bluetooth, WiFi, etc.)
Desktop OSs are more powerful and can do more things compared to iOS or Andriod. As they are more open and have way more going on the might not run as smooth. If this crash I would reinstall the OS or maybe get a newer computer.
For Servers the graphical desktop is not installed automatically; it has to be explicitly added after the Server software/OS has been installed. For Windows, a special stripped down version is known as Server Core. For Server 2008 Server Core cannot have a graphical desktop but for Server 2012 you can add it later.
a server operating system will almost always have extra software incorporated for managing a high-end server and business... also most server operating systems are always 64bit... the difference only matters if you have a server to run it on...
I used to use Mac OS 10.4 Server. And i far as I remember, it cannot run Front Row. With the Remote of using Cmd+Esc, I couldn't get it running
No, as it has no real operating system (os). If you do wish to run desktop applications, I would install windows 7 starter, as it has a small file size, but large capabilities.
explain client or server OS trends
Two types of OS available one is client or desktop OS and the other is network OS. Desktop OS is the OS which can be used in a standalone computer but in case of network OS a group of computer can use it. Example: Desktop OS : Window xp,7 Network OS : Unix, Linux, Solaris - SuresH
