yes it is pointless
We've spent the last 500 years trying to get used to the idea that no force is required in order for an object to move. Force is required only to change the speed or direction of an object's motion, but the object keeps moving just fine at a constant speed and in a straight line, forever, with no forces on it.

If they have lodging , many places people go to hike are built facing north so they can locate their way back. For example "the Bristol hiking centre" is built in a woods people hike in. if people get lost they can go there, or they can go just for a cup of coffee.Note:Unless you need GPS accuracy, an ordinary compass can keep you safely oriented in relation to the cardinal points, and perhaps more importantly, it can keep you oriented in relation to your starting point. Under normal conditions, the direction of true north is less important. You need to know the general direction of the nearest highway, or how to get yourself back to your starting point.
i have no idea... im trying to figure it out...
One way to not accelerate an object is by trying to reduce its speed. In physics, a change in speed or in direction is called acceleration. One way not to accelerate an object is to change its name.
Technically speaking, if you were to stand at the North Pole there would be only the direction considered south. Compasses work off of magnetic pole, we refer to this as the "North Pole." A compass always shows the direction of North, so imagine standing at the North Pole and trying to go east, it wouldn't work too well because as you go east the compass reading would change.
Mr.x was trying to kill one direction because he was trying to get back at them for no reason
Friction acts in the opposite direction that the object is moving or trying to move. The force of friction is calculated by multiplying the normal force of the object, usually mass times gravity, by the coefficient of friction.
A compass rose is used on maps to show the cardinal directions (north, east, south, west) and intermediate directions (northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest). It helps orient the map and gives a reference point for navigation.
The purpose of a compass rose is to allow you to align your compass with it on a navigational map, it is very relevant for people trying to navigate ships or other marine vehicles.

A transponder makes a sound in the fluid, and the time it takes the return pulse to arrive allows one to determine distance, and the direction the return pulse comes from tells the direction to the reflecting surface. How it works is that, when a sound signal is sent into the water, part of it will be reflected back when it hits an object. The distance to the object can then be determined by measuring the time between when the signal was sent and when the echo is received. Active sonar differes from passive sonar because in passive sonar, the operator listens to sounds emitted by the object one is trying to locate. Passive sonar uses the sounds emitted by objects such as ships, submarines and creatures such as marine mammals and fish to determine their location
