No country still is.
The British Empire no longer exists. What we have now is the United Kingdom, which is made up of 4 countries (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) plus overseas territories (such as Falklands and Gibraltar) and British Crown Dependences (such as the Isle of Man).
Any country which still wished to be part of Britain in a way after the end of the British Empire were invited to become members of the British Commonwealth. Countries who are members of the British Commonwealth have their own governments rather than being governed by the UK, but they have voluntarily chosen to keep the British Monarch as their head of state.
No nation is struggling for British Independence. All the nations that are not part of the United Kingdom, as defined in British Law such as the Act of Union 1701, are independent. The ones who still wanted to be part of Britain in a way (govern themselves but keep the British Monarch as the head of state) have voluntarilyjoined the British Commonwealth and are free to leave the Commonwealth any time they like.
