Wakonda is "The power above" (ie., God) to the hunters and warriors of the Great Plains of North America, which include the Omaha.
Although all tribes varied in their spiritual practices, in general, Native Americans only worshipped one God, the Creator. the time of the year meant nothing in regard to that. We honor, recognize and respect the spirits of all things living.
Manifest Destiny took lands from Native Americans. The philosophy of it was that God wanted the people of the United States to move west and settle land. From the very start of the colonization of North America the Native American tribes were seen as secondary and inconsequential. With the election of Jackson the philosophy of a "good Indian was a dead one" came full circle. Tribes were forced to move onto reservations and attacked by federal troops. Millions of buffalo were killed to starve the plains tribes and Native American children were separated from the tribes and families and put in government schools. The whole history of the relationship between the Native American tribes and the American government is one of abuse, death, and taking ancestral lands.
Ah Cancum(Maya)God of hunting
Progressive Jews tend to refer to God in their native languages as opposed to Hebrew (unless Hebrew is their native language).

Almost all tribes in the Americas had dieties that represented the sun among other dieties. Some of the Plains tribes still do the Sun Dance. I can think of no tribe that "worshiped" in the English use of the word, the sun.
This means the worshiping of feathers. In Native American tribes, especially, the deification and wearing of feathers can confer God-like or almost God-like powers on the wearer - usually a chieftain.

Spiritual beliefs were as varied as their tribes and sometimes even the clans within the tribes. Many tribes were monotheist (believing in one God), while some others believed in more than one. Most tribes celebrated the earth and all she had to give, including the animals.
There is a massive revival going on among all Native American tribes today. They are realizing that the son of God that is in many of their ancient beliefs is actually Jesus, and that the Christianity that was represented to their ancestors, was not true Christianity as expressed in the New Testament.
since god created them...... the first day of earth
The birth of Israel as a nation can be traced back to Jacob's struggle with the angel of God. After Jacob fought the angel, God named him Israel, and this became the name that refers to Jacobs offspring who evolved into the nation of 12 tribes. The birth of modern Israel happened at the end of British occupied Palestine (what is now called Israel) after ww2 when the Jews of the diaspora returned to their native homeland and transformed it into a modern nation state.
That depends which shamanistic tradition you are referring to, though most do not refer to these powers as gods, but as spirits. Many native American tribes identify Waconda as the Great Spirit. Spirits can have many names or none at all.
