Hello Pam. Sorry to ?

Hello Pam. Sorry to hear about this condition. It's true that sciatica can cause such pain. when sciatic nerve is compressed by a bulging disc in your vertebra it can cause such pain in the back and hips that radiates from back of the hips to knees or can even go to the bottom of the foot.you may also experience tingling or numbness in the area. But this is not the only cause for back pain. for example an inflamed bursa (fluid filled sac at the site of a joint) of the hip can cause a pain that radiates to the lateral part of your knees.
