You can use synthetic 75W-90 if you are using a gasket between the diff cover and the housing. If you are using RTV sealant with no gasket, use the conventional gear oil 80W-90. It seems the synthetic lube dissolves the RTV sealer.

Hi Im assuming you mean the diff gear oils? We live on a property that has a river/ford to cross that is about 50cm deep or deeper. The only way is to increase the length of the diff breather hoses and change diff oils and seals on a regular basis.
