It depends on the condition of the engine. If the engine is relatively new, you can use a "Synthetic" oil that will keep the sludge from building up. If the engine has more than 50K mi, don't change from the brand you've been using. If the oil pressure is low at an idle, change to an oil that's a little "thicker", meaning that it will have higher viscosity numbers. In general, you want to use the lowest viscosity numbers possible that will keep the oil pressure up.

Is 60psi a good cylinder compression for a Chevy?

NO. That is to low. If it is a good tight engine it should have at least 150 PSI per cylinder. You can not have any more of difference then 15 LBS per cylinder are the engine will idle rough.

When your 02' Focus starts up after sitting it rattles and shutters a little any thoughts as to why it does?

If this is a four cylinder engine it is common. In four cylinder engines you are gonna notice ANY lag in power or idle. Since only having four lobes on the crankshaft it has to turn so fast so that you dont notice. In 6 and 8 clyinder engines there are more lobes so the engine is firing closer together than a four. This is why they can be at idle and not notice any vibration. I hope I explained this good enough for you. Good luck.Brad.

If head gasket jumped is he better to rebuilt the motor?

The four cylinder Fiero engine has a bad problem with cracking the cylinder head. If the gasket is bad it is likely the head will need an expensive repair. If the car has the V6 engine it is possible to just replace the gasket The real question is how good was the engine before the gasket failed? Should it be rebuilt or was it not burning oil and in good condition before the failure. Did the gasket failure cause any damage to the engine?

How many cylinders is 2700cc?

2700cc is the displacement of the engine. Typically, the higher the displacement, the more cylinders the engine will have. 2.7 liters (which is 2700cc) would make for a larger 4 cylinder engine, or a smaller 6 cylinder engine. Though it would be rare, it would be a good size for a 5 cylinder engine. Other configurations are possible also.

Can a 3 cylinder engine run good on 2 cylinder?

Not really. If one of the three cylinders is not functioning, the engine has lost MORE than 1/3 of the power if you take into consideration that the engine is still moving the "dead" piston.

What is the compression on each cylinder on a 5.7 liter motor?

A new engine would have 150 LBS or more per cylinder. A used engine that runs real good and that has plenty of power should have at least 140 LBS. per cylinder. If there is more then a 15 LB. difference in any cylinder then you will have a rough idle and maybe an engine miss at a idle. That means there is an internal engine problem.
