When you begin to write files to the CD, format options should come up automatically for you to select the format you'd prefer.

Insert it into the drive - the computer will recognise the disk and offer you the best option to format it.
On your camera, go to the menu. Then, find the option that says Format. Select the Format option. When it asks you to continue, select yes. Next it will say that it is busy deleting all of the pictures. This is much faster and easier than what Arkanada suggested. -Mengjing you just keep pressing delete over and over until all of the pictures are deleted.
Using an install dvd, there is usually an option to format
ctrl-1 will copy the format of the selected cell then you will have to select the cell in which you want to change. On the menu bar there is a icon that looks like a paint brush. You can select this icon to copy a cells format as well but you will have to still select the cell in which you want the change to happen.

Insert the RW-CD in the drive and right click on the cd drive and select the option as format disk
