From you question I'm guessing you have a 1.5 Ltr. motor. The spark plug wires at the distributor(stand at the passenger fender and look straight at the distributor) are: bottom left - 1, top left - 3, top right - 4, bottom right - 2,. The spark plug wires on the motor (standing in front of the car) are: from left to right: 4,3,2,1.
The distributor wiring order for a 1996 Honda Civic is 1-3-4-2. The distributor will be have the wires in the clockwise position starting a 1.
All of the spark plug wires go to the distributor. Just follow the wires and you will see the distributor.
