First, the plant undergoes photosynthesis, as normal. Once the glucose is produced, it is turned into starch through a process called polymerization. This happens in the organelle known as the amyloplast. Once the amyloplast has turned the glucose into starch, it moves the starch to the stroma, which is the sponge-like material that gives support to the plant cell.
