This branch is very large so the President gets help from the Vice President, department heads (Cabinet members), and heads of other agencies.

The cabinet heads serve at the discretion of the President. It is fairly rare, but not unheard of, for a person to serve under more than one President. Most of Obama's cabinet resigned at the end of his first term. I do not know whether he asked them to, as other Presidents have done.
