No I thought that as well but Leonardo sold it to a french king, read below: : Main article: Leonardo da Vinci Self-portrait by Leonardo da Vinci, executed in red chalk sometime between 1512 and 1515Leonardo da Vinci began painting the Mona Lisa in 1503 (during the Italian Renaissance) and, according to Vasari, "after he had lingered over it four years, left it unfinished...."[5] He is thought to have continued to work on it for three years after he moved to France and to have finished it shortly before he died in 1519.[6] Leonardo took the painting from Italy to France in 1516 when King François I invited the painter to work at the Clos Lucé near the king's castle in Amboise. Most likely through the heirs of Leonardo's assistant Salai,[7] the king bought the painting for 4,000 écus and kept it at Fontainebleau, where it remained until given to Louis XIV. Louis XIV moved the painting to the Palace of Versailles. After the French Revolution, it was moved to the Louvre. Napoleon I had it moved to his bedroom in the Tuileries Palace; later it was returned to the Louvre. During the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871) it was moved from the Louvre to a hiding place elsewhere in France

no you need to wait until your home dries completely before painting
Answer First of all, the White House was only heavily damaged by the fire. Doddly Madison, the first lady, was the one who saved the painting.
In the middle ages most people were illiterate, therefore they would not have been able to read written text. They could still understand a painting. (This was before Jackson Pollack, of course.)

The original picture of the Mona Lisa is kept in 'Musée du Louvre' in Paris, France. The painting said to be much smaller than people would think, but it is under very high security.
Le Louvre has been built and used for years as a royal Palace before Versailles
The wall was not cleaned or primed before painting. The wall was wet before painting. The paint was not properly mixed before painting.

Right from the beginning, even before it was the main seat of the Kings. The original Louvre was a fortress, part of the defences of Paris, built in about 1200. The names seems to derive from louverie - a wolf's lair.
The number 666 came from a brochure issued by the Louvre in the 1980's before the pyramid was built. Changes made during construction increased the number to 673.
