check the fuses....and for specifics...you should be able to find a shop manual at the local library with the right information on this -- make copies of the pages, as they are usually for REFERENCE only...:)
Well I personally have a 2000 Malibu LS and have had the same troubles random clicking noises when signals aren't on then no signals or random signals. The problem is your hazard relay switch, it is located in your dash board very easy abd cheap fix.
The flasher is actually the hazard switch itself. If removed turn signals will not function. Just pop the old switch out and unplug it to replace if broken (if present and signal don't work).
Defective Flasher Relay, replace it. One relay operates the Hazard Lights and the other operates the turn signals. Be sure and replace the correct one.Defective Flasher Relay, replace it. hazards and turn signals have separate flashers. replace flasher for turn signals
If the turn signals are inoperative check the hazard switch, if the hazards don't work replace the hazard switch, the signals will start working. if the hazards are ok ,the turn signal switch may be bad.
replace turn signal flasher, hazard flasher is separate
Hazard and turn signals usually use separate flashers, switch the flashers to see if turn signals work and hazards don't, if so replace the flasher you need to replace the blinker flasher unit it is different from the hazard unit they cost about 4 bucks the flasher unit is the big round thing in the fuse panel in the dashboard
Before you replace the hazard flasher switch, try the WD-40 fix. Spray WD-40 around the switch and pop it up and down a few time and wiggle it around a bit. This will fix this type of problem most of the time.AnswerThe Hazard system is a separate circuit from the turn signals even though they use the same bulbs. I would replace the hazard flasher which should be located in the fuse box. I hope this helps you.
Integrated with the hazard flasher switch (which is in the dash)
Often, a separate flasher unit is used to activate the hazard flashers. This unit might be bad, or the switch to activate the hazard flashers might be bad. answer always there are 2 flashers.one for turn signals other for hazard replace hazard flasher They have separate fuses also.
because of a flasher switch, located in the fuse panel.
The turn signal and the hazard lights each have their own relay. Sounds like you have to replace both relays.
