just had my motor mounts replaced on the same bug you're asking about. I know there were three (3). Parts & labor ran $638.00. Call dealer parts dept and ask!

The beetle never offered a full automatic, they did make a "auto-stic" This transmission was a 3 speed and had to be shifted but there is no clutch pedal, the clutch is operated by contact points in the shifter. I am sure it would be more practical to buy a differant car with the transmission you prefer

We were told by our vw service the beetle is made to have lifetime tranny fluid, therefore there is not a dipstick or a fill area. It is all self contained and has to be filled by service through the tranny drain/pan under the car.
