around 10 billion pounds of waste is recycled each year as u can see that is much less than what goes into our oceans we need to save our oceans!

About 66% of paper used in the United States is recycled each year. Recycling paper helps to save trees, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste in landfills.
Household waste:Recyclable: All clean paper, newspaper and cardboardAll clean steel and aluminium cansAll glass bottles and jarsMost kinds of clean plastic containers and bottlesElectronic waste, old TVs, radios, computers, printersCompostable (or recycled through a worm farm or fed to animals)All leaves, small branches and vegetable peelingsFood scraps (no meat or fish in the compost)Although just about everything is recyclable, including all plastic, you may find that the recyclers in your area will not take everything! It depends on the facilities they have and how economic the process is for them.
1.Empty plastic bottles: Can be recycled by handing them in at a local supermarket. 2.Emty glass bottles: Can be recycled by handing them in at a special container for glass. 3.Toys: Can be given to other children or for example to an orphanage. Toys can be recycled in factories to make new ones. 4.Drink cans: You throw them away in a waste container. They are picked up by trucks and brought to factories for recycling. 5.Empty packages: Can be hand in at waste containers. They are also picked up by trucks and brought to factories for recycling.
There are approximately 1,000,000,000 pounds of cardboard recycled each year. Why so much?Because everything is now mostly recycled to save our planet instead of polluting the earth

All cell phones can be recycled, although what each phone will be used for will vary. The parts of a cell phone (especially the battery) contain elements that can be harmful to the environment if the cell phone is not disposed of properly. I have enclosed a link to an organization that specializes in recycling cell phones of all types. http://recyclemycellphone.org/recycle.cfm
I use about 3-4 bottles daily. So that's about - a lot a year. Gosh that is a lot. What is wrong with people? Plastic water bottles have so much bacteria and they are such a huge waste of oil! Buy a Klean Kanteen!
How many computers are recycled each year?
"Segregation" essentially means "Separation", in this context. In technical terms, "Segregation of Waste" is slightly different than "Separation of Waste", in that when a waste system is set up, "Segregation" means that the system always keeps the different waste types separate from the time the waste is created, while "Separation" generally means that waste is combined after production, but later sorted apart (usually, after collection and before disposal). Example: in many parts of the country, recycling trash bins Segregate the plastics from the metals (each has its own bin compartment). However, once the plastics reach the local collection/recycling center, they are then further Separated in type 1, 2, 4, etc., each of which is chemically recycled differently.
