The communication between an employee and an employer regarding another coworker is very limited. Under the privacy acts, employers are not allowed to divulge personal information to any other employee regarding the coworker, without their consent.
Your local bank should have an employee that can offer advice about your personal finances. If your local branch does not have a Personal Banking Officer, ask your teller who can best answer questions about your finances.
You can ask about the employee in question and ask why the employee is no longer in their service. Keep out any information that could be used as discrimination against the employee.
