You have to have a strong stomach because you'll be dealing with blood, vomit, guts etc. You also have to try not get too attached to your patients. Patience is good, because you're dealing with animals which don't always react rationally when in pain. Kindess is also a must for the same reason and others.

They should have an affinity for animals and the ability to get along with their owners, especially pet owners, who usually have strong bonds with their pets. Veterinarians who intend to go into private practice should possess excellent communication and business skills, because they will need to manage their practice and employees successfully and to promote, market, and sell their services.

∙ 13y agoWell, in a few years I will be a vet and based on my research you have to be charismatic, as with every job, willing to have flexible schedule, as you can be called in at any time, and you need a strong stomach b/c you will have to deal with vomit, urine, and blood, lots and lots of animal blood.
