They are mostly the same interface but the GW520 is a much better phone because it has 3G connection and a fold out keyboard, which is much easier to use than the on screen keyboard on the Pop (both touchscreens are mostly the same - not the best.)
Furthermore it is much easier to text on the GW520. Bear in mind this is just my opinion, so it would be best for you to try out the phones for yourself before you decide. Get down to a good dealer and ask for a demo of the phones. Hope you find the right phone!

I would recommend the lg pop because psp and ds lite always change and a phone is more lasting longer.

I think you should go for the LG GW520 because it's new, stylish, has lots of new features including Windows Live Messengerᵀᴹ, Facebook (depends on what network you're on), LiveSquareᵀᴹ, 3G, QWERTY keyboard and more. It has the same camera and similar features though, but it is a good upgrade and its a much better phone, exept the screen is slightly smaller. But it's alot better, i have it and i love it!
