Depends there can b wetland marshes or salt water marshes and freshwater marshes. There r also marsh plants and marsh grasses u have 2 b very precise when ur talking about the different types of marshes.

It takes about 5 months depends on the weather
Many fish hide in marshes and feed on plankton like food on the bottom. The plants provide oxygen for the fish and animals to breathe. It is it's own ecosystem.
All I really know is rice and wa-pa-toe( a native American plant that's sorta like a potato and isn't really grown anymore).
