The Eragons series are not set in any time slot as it is a make belive world. But it only uses carts and other primitive forms of technology so I would base the inspired time slot between 1400-early 1700s
Brisingr means fire. It can either be used to set an object on fire or to create fire out of the air. Used by Brom in "Eragon" to light a campfire and by Eragon in "Eragon" to light the arrow on fire when he shot it as the Urgals were attacking.
Eragon first meets Brom in the town of Carvahall, where Eragon seeks his guidance after discovering a mysterious dragon egg. Brom becomes Eragon's mentor and teaches him about magic, dragon-riding, and the ways of the Dragon Riders.

Brom is only alive for a period of time in the first book, Eragon. He passes away after a fatal wound from the Shade he and Eragon fought. Eragon and Saphira built a tomb for him atop a mountain.
