I would argue that the Legislative branch has at least two important powers over the judicial branch: 1) the ability to approve or reject presidential nominations for judicial office; 2) the power of impeachment over federal judges and justices.
The powers of the judicial branch are contained in Article III of the Constitution, but those powers are not over the executive branch...they are separate from the powers of the legislative and executive branches.
Separated powers are the rights and responsibilities that are divided among the various branches of government. These branches include the executive branch, judicial branch, and legislative branch.
the judicial branch explains the laws, while the legistive branch makes them and executive enforces
The Judicial Branch makes sure that the laws made by the other branches are not unconstitutional.
Congress (judicial AND legislative branches) are denied the power to impeach, that is the right of the Supreme Court
The 3rd article in the Constitution specifies the Judicial Branches powers.
President doesn't have judicial power. Only the judicial branch has that power.
Yes, the enforcement branch (executive), law making branch (legislative), and the law interpretation branch (judicial).
The Legislative Branch to make the laws. The Executive Branch to enforce the laws. The Judicial Branch to interpret the laws.
The four elements of the separation of powers are: 1) separation of government powers into distinct branches (legislative, executive, and judicial); 2) each branch having its own powers and responsibilities; 3) each branch acting as a check on the other branches to prevent abuse of power; and 4) each branch being independent but also needing cooperation from the others to function effectively.
Article 3 describes the powers of the judicial branch.
Well, those "powers" are branches of the government in America. Each branch has the power to perform checks and balances on the other branches. The judicial branch has the power to declare laws made by the executive branch (the president) and the legislative branch (congress) unconstitutional. But in turn the legislative and executive branches both have their own checks to use against the judicial branch.
