Japan was bombed with conventional bombs during much of WW II under President Franklin Roosevelt. However, he died prior to the ATOMIC bombing of Japan, and Harry S Truman was President at that time.
If you mean atomic bomb there were two dropped over Japan in the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The President was Harry Truman.
The first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6, 1945, and the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, on August 9, 1945. President Truman was advised that if the U.S. launched a full-scale invasion of mainland Japan, the the U.S. would suffer as many as a million casualties. In order to bring the war to a quick ending and incur as few casualties as possible, Truman ordered the atomic bombing of Japan.
Its tough to tell. I mean how would we know? Since we dropped it though, it ended our war with Japan. I really think it was a very smart thing to do.
the Americans dropped an atomic bomb on japan to save millions of American lives that would have been lost in the invasion of mainland japan
during WW2, there was no trade between Japan and the US
America exploded a lot of atomic bombs the ones they dropped on Japan were to win the war and to see what would happen if they were dropped on real live people.
According to wikipedia Harry S. Truman was president from April 1945-1953 which would make him president in August 1945 when the first atomic bomb was dropped.
President Truman dropped two atomic bombs, the first ever created, on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because he thought that would be a good strategy to make the ever fighting Japan surrender in WW2

It was dropped to save wartime causualites hat would accompany an invasion Hiroshima.
If the tested bomb had not worked it is likely they would have tried dropping the other bombs. If Japan had surrender prior to the dates the bombs were to be dropped then the bombs would not have been dropped on Japan.
No surrender

To end the war with Japan. If it wasn't dropped, The US and it's allies would have had to invade deeper into Japan costing millions of lives. Ironically it was dropped to save Allied lives , but killed hundreds of thousands of Japanese civilians.
they would have dropped one on them anyways or still won the war
The US dropped an atomic bomb on Japan and told them they would drop another if Japan did not surrender. They didn't surrender, so the US dropped a second atom bomb. The US then told Japan that they would send a THIRD atom bomb (which they actually didn't have. It was a HUGE bluff), and luckily for mankind, the Japanese DID surrender.
They believed it would end the war, and act as a warning to other countries.
Yes the atomic bomb was already made, it was made in the Manhattan Project and secret code so other nation would not know of it, It was later dropped in a desert in New Mexico to test its deadlinest, and then later dropped on Japan TWICE.
