some firearms were produced without serial number, but as of 1968 all firearms are SUPPOSED to have a serial number. I don't believe any 38 specials were made without a serial number, unless of foreign make......................
The Model 80DL was made from 1941-1964. None have serial numbers.
The Colteer 1-22 was made from 1957-1966. @ 25,000 were made and they did not have serial numbers. Serial numbers were not required until 1968. Although Colt put sn's on other products they sold at the same time, for some reason they did not on the Colteer
Between 1933 - 1942. Serial numbers were not required by law on shotguns and rifles until 1968.
No way for us to tell without more information. Serial numbers are NOT unique to any one gun.
It probably does not have a serial number. Shotguns & 22s made before 1968 were mostly made without serial numbers. lcj
all colt SAA pistols have serial numbers. If the serial number was filed off then the gun is Illegal to have, and without serial can't tell when made...............
I am sure the first rifles made using black powder did not have a serial number engraved. Antique rifles without a serial number do exist. I am however unsure what the law state about collector pieces. Logically one can not force a serial number onto a piece that originally was made without one.
No way of answering without knowing make and model. Serial numbers are not unique to one gun.
It is impossible to answer without knowing who made it. Serial numbers are not always unique in firearms. For instance, a Colt .45 may share a serial number with a firearm made by a different company, such as a Glock 9mm.
You can't
Depends on when it was made.
