He was a prophet, student of Achiya HaShiloni and teacher of Elisha. He prophesied among the Ten Tribes (a.k.a. the Northern Kingdom of Israel) during the time of King Achav (Ahab); that is, during the time of the First Temple.

When one understands just what a Prophet is, we will realize that there are no "Big Prophets", only prophets that are well known because they are mentioned more in the scriptures. A prophet is a person who knows by personal revelation from the Holy Ghost that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, " for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Rev. 19:10;) Accordingly, every prophet bears record of Christ. "To him give all the prophets witness" (Acts 10:43;). No matter how many other talents a person has if they do not have a testimony born of the Holy Spirit that Jesus is the Christ, they are not a prophet. "Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" (John 4:1;). Also a prophet is only a prophet when he is acting as such. Any man or woman for that matter who has by revelation a sure knowledge that Jesus is the Christ is a Prophet, though it must be understood that not all are given the same authority to preach the gospel and to be a spokesperson for Christ. To have a testimony given by the Holy Spirit does not give one the right to speak on behalf of others.
Isaiah served under 4 kings as a prophet. In his notes on Isaiah in his Study Bible, John MacArthur says:- Isaiah, son of Amoz, ministered in and around Jerusalem as a prophet to Judah during the reigns of 4 kings of Judah: Uzziah (called "Azariah" in 2 Kings), Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah (1:1) from ca. 739-686BC.
Isaiah 20:2-42 the Lord told Isaiah son of Amoz, "Take off the burlap you have been wearing, and remove your sandals." Isaiah did as he was told and walked around naked and barefoot.3 Then the Lord said, "My servant Isaiah has been walking around naked and barefoot for the last three years. This is a sign-a symbol of the terrible troubles I will bring upon Egypt and Ethiopia.[a] 4 For the king of Assyria will take away the Egyptians and Ethiopians[b] as prisoners. He will make them walk naked and barefoot, both young and old, their buttocks bared, to the shame of Egypt. As a side note, you also may find this interesting. Technically although he was never considered a prophet, King Saul being filled with the spirit also prophesied sans clothing:1 Samuel 19:23-24 So [Saul] went there to Naioth in Ramah. Then the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on and prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah. And he also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"Answer:Reading the Hebrew Bible without the benefit of tradition has led to unfortunate errors. Tradition states that no prophet ever went around naked. Isaiah removed his normal clothing and went around in rags, not naked (Talmud, Yoma 77a). Similarly with Saul, he removed his royal clothes and wore simple garments (Rashi commentary, 1 Samuel ch.19). He was "naked" of royalty.
They're very similar; I wouldn't call either "better" but if I were to buy one I would get the Naked palette.
Elisha was the prophet as recorded in 2 Kings 2:13-14.
It isn't clear what prophet you are talking about.
