Depending on what role you want in the army they will train you to do everything. You will gain qualifications but generally all you need is a pass in year 9 or equivalent for Direct Entry. If you want to go to the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) will need a pass in year 12 or equivalent. Go to http://www.defencejobs.gov.au/ search for the job you want and it will tell you what you need.
