Dogs are very intelligent animals and great as a family pet!
Here are a few qualities a good family dog should have:
- smart- A family dog should be quite intelligent. If you get it as a puppy it'll be easier to train as it will get use to basic commands from a young age, then it will be able to do tricks such as roll-over, paw, etc... which will be entertaining for the family.
- obedient- It is best to get an obedient dog that will do as it's told especially around children.
- friendly- if you have children or any other pets such as a cat for example it is best to get a dog which is friendly. If you get a dog which may sometimes nip you when paranoid you should scold them immediately, this will let the dog know he/she has done wrong and shouldn't do it again in future references.
- Healthy and happy!- every dog should be healthy and happy! To keep a dog healthy and happy take he/she for plenty of walks. to keep your new K9 entertained make sure he/she has at least a toy to play with. Also, make sure you keep your dog on a balanced diet, for any more information about your dogs health contact your local vet immediately.
