according to the Funk and Wagnalls encyclopedia there are Five Sovereign Queens interred in Westminster Abbey, plus the consorts and descendants of Kings. from what I know of English History this would be, roughly Chronological> Mary I (l558) Elizabeth I(l603) Mary II (l694) Anne (l7l4) and Mary, Queen of Scots, (executed l587 reburied in Westminster by her son, James I). as the above indicates, there are also numerous Queen consorts- who do not rank as Regnant Queens. Pass the word Victoria is NOT buried in Westminster, she is interrred in the Frogmore Mausoleum in Windsor. as she is such a famous Queen people think she is buried in the Abbey, but is not.

Queens Mary I ( Mary Tudor) D.l558. and Elizabeth I (reigned l558-l603) Elizabeth"s massive effigy dominates the scene, there is not even a portrait of Queen Mary I. They were half-sisters. Common Father Henry VIII. Mary was the daughter of Catharine of Aragon ( who was a Spanish Lady) and Elizabeth of Anne Boleyn, who was executed.
