Queen Victoria was raised a Roman Catholic by her father (The Duke of Kent) and her mother (Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld) and stayed a "role model" Roman Catholic for many years. Once Queen Victoria was about 51 years old she converted to a Protestant crusader. Later on in her reign she started to change again. Her attitude changed in the way she portrayed herself publically and privately seemed different. She then, portrayed herself as a philo -- Catholic.

Queen Victoria was definitely NOT raised as Roman Catholic. She was raised in the Church of England as heir presumptive to the British throne. The Act of Settlement decreed that a Roman Catholic could not sit on the British throne. If she had been a Roman Catholic, she could not have succeeded her uncle William IV in 1837. When in Scotland, Queen Victoria regularly worshipped at Crathie Church, in the Church of Scotland, which is Presbyterian. She definitely preferred what would be a low-church approach to the Church of England and preferred the simplicity of Presbyterian worship in Scotland.
