The notion of disease being some sort of punitive judgement for sin is on very loosely packed soil, theologically. Nobody preaches this stuff overtly- the shame factors of such things as child sex ( children being raped or having sex with other kids- and the Churchmen rigorously ban abortion- that is something else.There is nothing wrong- in fact it is an urgent emergency need to prevent as well as fight- Fires, accidents, etc. I can't see why a raped child should not have some form of ( clearance check) surgery. The idea that a disease is a curse has no part in Christian Charity. It is self-evident this would short out hospitals, asylums, etc many of which were and are founded and operated by Religious orders and organizations. ( Booth Memorial is named after Salvation Army founder General Wm> Booth- it is NOT a restaurant where the last supper was held- or a restaurant specializing in so-called funeral or memorial suppers! Many hospitals were founded and maintained by Religious groups- and of differing denominations- ST. Francis- Catholic- Franciscan order, Columbia Presbyterian- Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai- Jewish. and so on. If you took the position this was a curse, they wouldn"t even exist!
