In addition to a SAT/ACT score, high school transcripts and essays, the BYU application requires an ecclesiastical endorsement from a bishop if the applicant is LDS or another religious leader if the applicant is not LDS.

Applicants are also strongly encouraged to attend seminary during high school.

The average GPA is 3.8, but you can have lower if you have a lot of extracurricular activities, too.

It doesn't matter what high school classes you take, just get good grades. All that matters is that you do well on the ACT or SAT and that they like your application.
