In 1913, on the 50th Anniversary of the Battle some 12,000 veterans Southern and Northern, pitched their tents on that hallowed ground. They were all old, but they came, drawn to the history that they had made. For many it was their last reunion. But the Reunions continued until 1946 when the last handful of veterans gathered to say adieu to their 140,000 comrades.
