The cardiovascular system's main organ is the Heart. The other organs associated are blood vessels. The cardiovascular system is responsible for pumping and circulating the blood. The lungs play a vital role in the cardiovascular system, however; they are not technically part of this system even though a lot of people think they are. The respiratory system includes the pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs and diaphragm. These are the organs used for breathing.
Hemoglobin carries the oxygen molecules into the bloodstream.
The respiratory system brings oxygen into the body.

The lungs play an increadably important role in the circulatiory system. Without lungs we would not be alive. The role of the lungs sounds quite simple though, when you inhale they take in the oxygen and pass it along to the blood flow thorough the bronchi and alveoli. The red blood cells then make carbon dioxide as a bi-product which is collected up by the bronchi and breathed back out again.
