The British colonised America and the French colonised Canada. The British beat the French out of Canada with the help of the Canadian native tribes and the American colonists. However, the American colonists then fought for their independence from Britain in the 1770s. The British were helped by the Native American Indians, but eventually the French helped the Americans and the British grated independence to America.
The French had no direct cause, but they sure played a role in it. During that time, the British and French were at war. Both in resentment of the Americans, they seized American ships and goods (known as impressment.) Slowly, American and British found themselves at war. With the British battling the French and Americans at the same time, it was not easy. it had somthing to do with their loss of the war.

He was a prominent Mohawk leader and warrior who allied with the British during the conflict. Brant played a significant role in leading Native American forces against the American colonists.

According to American legend, the British army band under Lord Cornwallis played this tune when they surrendered after the Siege of Yorktown (1781). Customarily, the British army would have played an American or French tune in tribute to the victors, but General Washington refused them the honours of warand insisted that they play "a British or German march." Although American history textbooks continue to propagate the legend the story may have been apocryphal as it was added a century after the surrender.
