There where several runic "alphabets" so to say, back then. The most popular ones where:

  • Futhark
  • Langkvistrunes
  • Kortkvistrunes
  • Dalrunes

Older Futhark is what people regard as "old norse", however, the runes cannot be translated to latin letters. This is beucase the runes where not letters, they where runes. And thus every rune was made a specific sound rather than a letter.

I could have made an attempt if I knew your name.
